Meeting Notes and News - March 2014

We had yet another successful meeting on Monday, the highlight being a tire-changing clinic presented by Lydia Collins. During this hand-on session, Lydia demonstrated and facilitated the process, as well as provided hints and tips for all levels of cyclists. LJFAT thanks Lydia for her time and support of our club.

Our club focus continues to be providing useful information and benefits to our members and the community, as well as offering an avenue for the athletic community to get to know each other better. To that end, we will continue our attempt to find guest speakers/clinicians for our monthly meetings. These meetings are not just for triathletes, but for anyone interested in being part of a fitness social network. Let's spread the word to our community about the great opportunities our club offers!

In other news, we continue to hold workouts at the Lake Jackson Intermediate track every Wednesday evening at 6:00pm. These workouts are for runners and walkers of all levels – running with a group is great motivation! The workout is posted weekly on our FaceBook page, so be sure to check it out and join us!

Our club has recently purchased a new race clock and cones for use free of charge by all community race directors. Because most local races are events designed to raise money for a specific cause or organization, LJFAT would like to offer the use our equipment at no cost to the race organizations. Additionally, we will use this equipment for LJFAT-sponsored events, such as the Firecracker 4 and Surfside Shuffle.

We are committed to making a positive contribution to our fitness community. We welcome YOUR ideas about how to make our club more beneficial to our current and potential members. Feel free to leave a comment on our FaceBook page or email me at
